This spread shows that for March, I began using a consistent theme for a month in terms of decoration. In this case, green and purple with quite a few flowers. The theme was triggered by the purchase of green and purple pastel Stabilo highlighters.
As with recycling spread layouts, I really like the monthly themes as they take some guesswork out of drawing up each week. It means that rather than looking at every item of stationary you own and having to pick and chose, you’re limited to a certain colour palate or item.
Obviously, as it’s a bullet journal, and completely up to you how you draw it up, there’s no reason why you couldn’t deviate from a theme halfway through the month or throw in a random new layout, but I do quite like having some regimentation to keep things tied together and take some of the thinking out of setups!
